Our mission
Highly contagious diseases such as Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) and other emergency animal diseases are a critical threat to the Australian agricultural industry.
We have developed a tool that uses artificial intelligence to determine the likelihood of FMD or LSD in cattle.
A problem worth solving

Most Australian cattle producers and livestock workers have never seen FMD or LSD in real life. Those on the frontline need to be alert for signs of disease within livestock and be able to identify clinical signs quickly.
RemoteVet.ai helps by:
- Providing an easy to use, offline mobile application that frontline workers can use for surveillance and disease identification
- Increasing the speed of disease identification, triage and testing, reducing the spread of disease
- Complementing existing training with a digital, immersive tool.
With rapid disease prediction, producers can act quickly to isolate stock, get vets onsite for diagnosis, and protect the Australian livestock industry.
How it works
RemoteVet.ai is an application that uses machine learning technology to calculate the probability that a cow is presenting clinical signs a condition, by comparing its appearance to thousands of images of cows with and without specific diseases.
- Take a picture of your cow, using the AR guides through RemoteVet.ai
- RemoteVet.ai provides a prediction on the likelihood of that condition being FMD or LSD
- User can access next steps help, including access to veterinary specialists for support and diagnosis.

Why Think Digital
Think Digital exists to solve problems in agriculture. We collaborate with Industry, Supply Chain and Educators to deliver innovative, immersive solutions to better train and engage the workforce, attract new workers into agricultural careers and teach people how their food is produced.
A key passion of our team is working in the biosecurity space, and our projects with Animal Health Australia, MLA and PIRSA have revolutionised the way emergency animal disease training is undertaken, as well as provided valuable tools for remote cattle station workers. A natural evolution was the exploration of how AI technology could be used in this context. Founders Tim Gentle and Kat Bidstrup, together with their team dreamed up the idea of a mobile application that could provide instant results and set about collating images from around the world to build the model. The Australian Institute of Machine Learning through a community project and Microsoft assisted with testing if their idea was viable and practical. It is! And RemoteVet is now ready for early test users.
